Although GEO5 includes specialized programs for settlement and consolidation analysis, settlement of a structure can be analyzed in all programs for foundation analysis.
Programs for Settlement Analysis
The Settlement program is designated for analysis of terrain settlement from surcharge or under constructed embankment. It also enables calculation of consolidation using analytical method (Terzhagi).
It is also possible to analyze settlement using the finite element method in the FEM program. FEM – Consolidation module then allows calculation of settlement in time.
Settlement and rotation of a shallow foundation is analyzed in the Spread Footing program.
It is possible to calculate settlement or load-settlement curve of piles in the Pile, Pile CPT and Pile Group programs.
The Ground Loss program is designated for analysis of terrain settlement and risks of building damage above
a constructed tunnel.
